Georgia Moore

Mrs. Georgia Mae Major-Moore was born on September 25, 1927 in Clay County, Bluffton, GA to the late Mr. and Mrs. Will and Clemmie Major, Sr.  She departed this life on April 22, 2023 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.

            She married at an early age to Mr. J.B. Powell and together they had one child, Jamie Powell.  Both of whom proceeded her in death.  She left GA at an early age and traveled to Fort Lauderdale, FL, Newark, NJ, Columbus, OH, Cleveland, OH and then back to Edison, GA.  During her years she obtained her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital where she retired and began to care for her second husband, Mr. Earnest Moore and son Jamie Powell until they both passed away.  She then moved back to Georgia and made several friends and shared love among all that she met and knew.

            She leaves to cherish her memories a host of loving/special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was the youngest of 11 siblings of which all have preceded her in death.  She truly will be missed by all and remembered for all her love she gave.
